DC...tried three different ways.
A copy of Bedford Co. Land record #92175 shows that Jonathan
was a resident of Cumberland Valley Township in Bedford Co. Pa.
on 2/27/1799. Jonathan and Michael Murphy appear to have loaned
Thomas Still 40 pounds,
7 shillings with property
in Colerain Township, Bedford Co., on the waters of Town Creek,
used as collateral. Witnesses were Edward Northcraft and THOMAS
GORDON...Sworn and subscribed to before John Friend.

HAMILTON 07 May 1902 and some days following. The trial of Oliver
Weston Hamilton. Miss Phoebe Wigfield, daughter of Deborah Wigfield
of Town Creek and Mr OW Hamilton were married 15 Sep 1901 at
Franklin under duress and at the point of a gun and remained
together from Tuesday to Friday when he took her home to Town
Creek. She kept quiet under threat of death by Mr Hamilton but
finally confided to her mother. Charges and a divorce is their
demand. Mr Hamilton is son of Riley Hamilton and is aged 29 years
old, claims she went along agreeably.
